Cuisinart Cookie Press-Don't Get It
Eugene E. Allard

I bought this item at a local store. I plugged it in and it just hummed. Eventually it would grind and kept shutting off. I took it back to the store and tried (3) more in the store. They all ran terribly! I brought the fourth one home that sort of worked and finally got it to make about four cookies and it stopped working! I'm bringing it back to the store today for a refund. This product is poorly designed, noisy, unreliable and a waste of money. Additionally the manufacturer charges you $10 (a third of the purchase price) if you send it back to them for repair under warranty! Wow! I wonder what happened to quality control with Cuisinart?? I wouldn't buy this product again!

First Cookie press I've used and it works
J. Padilla

This this the first time I use any type of cookie press. I bought one at a local store, opened the box to find the retaining cap for the stamps to be broken in 3 pieces. Exchanged for a new one without issue. I used this to make about 5 dozen biscochitos. First attempt was to press these cookies onto parchment paper but after pressing the dough, it would release from the parchment and remained stuck to the press. I then decided to just press directly onto ungreased cookie sheet and that seems to be better. It took some practice and finally got the hang of it during the 2nd dozen. I was baking 1-1/2 dozen at a time, so when it was time to press more cookies the dough wouldn't stick to the hot cookie sheet. It seemed to stick just fine after the cookie sheet cooled which at that point I starting to work with 3 cookies sheets to save time. This was easy to load, easy to clean, and made a well shaped cookie.

Fun - Like A Brand New Toy!

Based on the other reviews online of the Cuisinart Electric Cookie Press, I was all prepared to take it back, even before using it! To my surprise (and joy), I thought it worked great. I have been an avid baker for a long time, and have loved and owned two Rival Super Shooters. I still have both (the first one I got 30 years ago, also plastic for the most part). The Super Shooters are no longer made, and mine are almost dead. I just received the Cuisinart the other day as a gift, and couldn't wait to try it out. Very similar premise to the Rival model. If you are not familiar with this design, it will probably take a little bit of time to adjust from a metal press. The directions were okay, not great, and the trick is to line up the arrows on all parts to avoid frustration. Love the cool shapes, very fun, much more updated designs than your basic spritz press. Hope this thing continues to work, but first batch of cookies, so far so good!P.S. In order for this product to work well, it is almost like dancing. Count a quick 1-2 and move on to the next cookie. Leave it for anything longer, and you will end up with blobs!
