cookie dough does not come out at all, instead it has to be scooped out of the ball - who needs the extra step. I was looking for something that didn't have the squeeze process of other scoopers, but still kept the cookie dough in a ball, and this didn't work at all.

It didn't work for me at all. After one or two scoops, the cookie dough just sticks inside it, and the "push button" function stops working. You end up having to pry out the dough with your finger or another spoon. The amount of dough that it scoops also makes the cookies too big, so they don't cook evenly.
